After 26 years of hard work and dedication to their family business, Mike and Beverly Perry, the founders of Solexx Greenhouses and Greenhouse Covering, are passing the torch to the next generation.

Starting back in 1987 as Farm Wholesale, Inc. Mike and Bev’s began selling corrugated plastic totes and tree wraps from their Salem, Oregon farm, while raising their two children, Michelle and Steven Perry.  The kids grew up with the family business and were as much a part of this company as Mike and Bev.

Although Farm Wholesale, Inc. got its start providing corrugated plastic totes and tree wraps to farms and nurseries, it didn’t stop there.  Mike and Bev saw the potential use of corrugated polyethylene as a greenhouse covering and set out to design a greenhouse kit that could be shipped nation wide and make greenhouse growing accessible and affordable to all hobby gardeners.  In 1987 they came up with a secret formulation for healthier and more robust plants, and eventually coined the trade name ‘Solexx’ and the line of Solexx Greenhouses was born.  Not only did Solex provide a temperate climate for plants through light diffusion and insulation, the durable plastic also was designed to stand up to  the elements of Mother Nature, including: snow, wind, hail and even hurricanes.

After 26 years they are now handing the reins over to their daughter Michelle (Perry) Moore whom will take over as Owner/CEO.  Michelle is also busy working her other full fulltime job– raising 11 month old twins.

Steven Perry be helping out as well, working on some special engineering projects for the company.

While we are sorry to see Bev and Mike leave, the Solexx brand will remain strong with the capable hands of their daughter. Solexx will continue to strive to help all families live a more healthy and sustainable life by providing the best greenhouse available for growing year round.
